Low Priority at DOJ for Mortgage Fraud

  The U.S. Justice Department did not ensure that mortgage fraud was prioritized at the level it said it would publicly. That's according to a new report released by the department's Office of the Inspector General, an independent auditor.
"The OIG further found significant deficiencies in DOJ's ability to report accurately on its mortgage fraud efforts," according to the report.

Upcoming in Chicago

Curbed Chicago has news of this interesting building in the works.

This super contemporary glass and steel-webbed mixed use building will soon be coming to 701 N Western Avenue. The developer, Panoptic Group, is currently in the process of obtaining permits to begin construction on the site, and hopes to break ground in early April. The developer expects to obtain LEED Gold status for the project, and once completed, the building will contain nine 1,800 square foot condo units, and have at least one parking space for each unit. The building will also boast roughly 2,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. In addition to having a striking aesthetic, the developer claims that the webbed design of the building will serve a functional purpose by acting as a solar shade. The average price for a unit in the new sleek building is expected to run about $469,000, so get ready Ukrainian Villagers

Watching the progress of River Point and New City

We get around on a reasonably frequent basis to all of the new downtown apartment sites and post pictures of their progress.
OxBlue construction cameras at the River Point and New City developments will give you a day and night view of those projects that’s updated every 10 to 15 minutes. The company’s slick websites also allow you to look back on the state of the project at any time you select, zoom in for a closer view, or simply play a time-lapse of the site’s progress.
